STAFF

  • DeMyron was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He studied at McNeese State University and Spurgeon College, and later earned his Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. Before coming to New City Fellowship, he served at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Detroit. He and his wife, Hayley, live in the Alger Heights neighborhood with their five children. In his free time, he enjoys reading, brewing espresso, spending time with his family, and cheering on the LSU Tigers.

  • Sarah Niemiec serves as the Executive Administrator, bringing strong organizational and leadership skills to her role. With a background in teaching, she values clear communication and supporting others in their work. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Sarah has called Grand Rapids home for the past seven years. In her free time, she enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors.

  • Ashley has been a member of New City since 2016. She has been married to her husband, Jared, for 15 years and they have two children, Nolan (9) and Peyton (4). She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and cheering on Nolan in whichever sport he's playing at the time.

  • Brad serves as the Music Director at NCF, where he seeks to lead the congregation in worship that exalts Christ and welcomes the diverse voices of the body of Christ. His passion is to plan services that are rooted in Scripture and shaped by the hope of the gospel. Brad has been an active member for the NCF music team since 2019, stepping into the Music Director position in 2024. He and his wife Chelsea have been attending NCF since 2015 and live with their two children in Caledonia.

LEADERSHIP

  • Jim and his wife Renee are founding members of New City Fellowship. Jim has served as an elder for over thirty years and enjoys serving our NCF church family as an elder. Jim is self-employed and enjoys fishing and spending time with Renee, his children and grandchildren.

  • James " Birdie" Niemiec is a family guy who loves staying active—whether he's out running, playing hockey, or just hanging out with friends. He’s also a deacon and helps on the building and grounds committee, lending a hand wherever it’s needed. When he’s not working as a Lead Engineer, you’ll find him making time for the people and things that matter most.

  • Josh and his wife Sarah have been part of New City Fellowship since its early years. He counts it a privilege to serve as elder and to shepherd the congregation alongside fellow leaders. Having worshiped with Christians in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Josh has been shaped by the global body of Christ and values the unity the gospel brings across cultures. Outside of church life, he works in business development in the pharmaceutical industry and enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with his family.

  • Isaiah and Bekah and their 4 children (Cameron, Scarlett, Catalina, & Mykel) have been going to New City for about 8 years. Isaiah works in the flooring business. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, and has been learning Spanish with a goal to become fluent.

  • Steve is a charter member of New City Fellowship currently serving as an elder. His wife Linda and he have lived in the New City Fellowship neighborhood since 1987. They enjoy spending time with their three sons, two daughters-in-law and three grandchildren all living in the Grand Rapids area. Steve grew up in the Philadelphia area and tends to pay attention to how their sports teams are doing quite closely. Steve also enjoys reading, when he has the time, and listening to podcasts. They are so thankful for God’s never-ending faithfulness.

  • Jon has been a deacon at New city Fellowship for over 6 years. He and his wife Kathy have 5 children. In his free time Jon enjoys coaching his kid's soccer teams and watching sports. Jon's favorite bible verse is Eph. 2:8 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not of yourselves, it is a gift of God."
